Our ProgramsFundraising

Mwamba House not only plans to support orphans and street children, but to run community classes, clinics, counselling groups for HIV+ men, women and children, sex education and vocational education courses.

We believe that through educating and supporting the most vulnerable members of the community, we can provide valuable skills that will help improve the quality of life and future for the people of the Mwanza area.

Our permanent staff are all local Tanzanians who are dedicated to assisting their fellow community members and children in building a brighter future for themselves.  We also actively encourage community volunteers to take an active part in our programs and help develop their own skills whilst giving back to their community.

Mwanza is located on the shores of Lake Victoria, one and a half hours flight time from Dar es Salaam. The local currency is the Tanzanian Shilling, and US$1 is equal to approximately TSH 1200.

Kiswahili is spoken in Tanzania, though many people have a basic knowledge of English. The local tribe of the Mwanza region is the Sukuma.

Tanzania is a peaceful country with a stable government and friendly, welcoming people.
